Summer Series: Getting Ready for School WITHOUT Spending Any Money (because I am tired of spending money)

Hi Reader,

This summer I decided that I would start a daily series where I get myself ready for school in August WITHOUT spending any money. I am just so tired of buying things when I KNOW I have materials available to me already. Either I have already purchased similar items in the past or I can reuse things I have in my house. So here is my challenge:

✅ Spend no more money
✅ Use what I have at home
✅ Can't get into school until August

Each day, I am doing one thing that will take me about 20 minutes to prepare for school. This page here on my blog will serve as the record of all of those things that I am doing AND house the ideas all in one place so, hopefully, I can revisit next year and not reinvent any wheels. Also, my hope is that this will be a hub for you to also find inspiration to not spend any more money than you already have.
So, without further ado, here are the posts and ideas to "Get Myself Ready for School WITHOUT Spending Any More Money (than I already have)"

1️⃣ Day 1: SHOP YOUR DRIVE(click to view the video on TikTok or go to IG here) On this day, I went through my drive and found a file on Goal Setting that I had already bought, printed it out, set it and forget it until August. The idea is to go through your own drive and see what you already have so you don't just buy something new.

2️⃣ Day 2: Parent Communication (click to view the video on TikTok or go to IG here) I gave three ideas for setting up parent communication early with your families. I gave away two freebies in this one that I think might be helpful to you. You can find those freebies here.

3️⃣ Day 3: Schedule Cards (click to view the video on TikTok or go to IG here) I updated my schedule cards today. This is just a call to get you to update something YOU need to update. What can you do in 20 minutes that will be beneficial to you in August?

I want you to know how much I appreciate this community.

You are the people who open my emails, support my work, purchase resources from Teaching in Room 6, and cheer me on year after year. I truly don't take that for granted.

So I am going to send you my BEST SELLING Classroom Procedure Manual for free. This is the number one thing people buy from me at the Back to School time of year. And it will be yours for free.

Here's how to get it:

✔️ Click the three linked videos above.
✔️ Watch the three videos (they are on TikTok....you can go to instagram and watch them there instead though!)
✔️ Like the videos and leave a comment on at least one of them.
✔️ Go to my blog and leave a comment with your handle you used to comment.

I will then send you the Best Selling Classroom Procedure Manual to use in your own classroom this coming year. Then YOU don't have to buy anything either 😃

Happy Teaching!

Stephanie

Hello Reader, I can't believe it, but I only have three more weeks of summer before it's back to school. Part of me is excited to get my classroom ready and meet my new 4th graders. The other part of me is wondering how summer disappeared so quickly! Here are two things I've done every year that always pay off. ✨ Tip #1: Pick one reading routine...

Teaching in Room 6 Ideas for YOUR Classroom from MINE Hi Reader, I don't know about you, but the week after winter break is always such an awkward time. I want to hit the ground running, but I don't want to overwhelm the kids with new idea after new idea. Because of this, I have found that easing into content and curriculum with high-skill, standards-based activities, but still having a bit of fun is the way to go.
